There is no blanket equipment-age restriction at SISU. Every tractor and trailer must be safe, well maintained, professionally presented and DOT ready for the division it runs in.
Section One
Pneumatic Requirements
- Functioning tractor-mounted pneumatic blower
- PTO and air system in proper working condition
- Pneumatic dry-bulk trailer in serviceable condition
- Discharge hoses in good condition with proper fittings
- Hose restraints and securement devices
- Functional valves and accurate gauges
- Wheel chocks
- Traffic cones
- Current fire extinguisher
- CB radio where customer sites require it
- DOT-ready tires, brakes and lighting
A functioning tractor-mounted pneumatic blower is required for pneumatic opportunities. Frac-sand trailers must be free of cement residue.
Section Two
Belly Dump and Hopper Bottom Requirements
- Functional bottom gates that seal correctly
- Suspension in sound working condition
- Tires meeting DOT standards
- Complete and functional lighting
- Secure, properly operating gate controls
- Clean, professionally presented equipment
- DOT-ready brakes and running gear
Gate controls must be secure and operate correctly. Equipment presentation matters at customer sites as much as mechanical condition.
Customer and insurance requirements may add to these standards for specific divisions, sites or regions.
Qualifications
Driver Qualification Standards
- 2+ years verifiable CDL driving experience
- 23 years of age or older
- Current DOT medical card
- Acceptable MVR and PSP history
- No disqualifying FMCSA Clearinghouse violations
- Successful completion of drug and alcohol screening
- PEC and H2S certification where applicable
- 3M half-mask respiratory fit test for applicable pneumatic divisions
- Oilfield experience required for selected pneumatic opportunities; not required for some belly dump, hopper bottom and industrial bulk opportunities
- Additional customer and insurance requirements may apply
Personal Protective Equipment

Requirements vary by division and customer site. Bring what applies to the work you are dispatched to.
- Hard hat
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- Impact or utility gloves
- Fire-resistant clothing
- High-visibility outerwear where required
- 3M half-mask respirator for applicable work
- Steel-toe boots
- H2S monitor for applicable oilfield work
